[MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE]
This position will participate in a variety of technical assignments such as: 
(1) conducting food product/process development 
(conduct renovation of existing products, new product development, packaging evaluation, labeling, shelf life determinations, ingredient evaluations, 
and issue finished product specifications, record test design and results, sensory evaluations, quality improvements, SOP creation) 
(2) conducting plant trials, new line commissioning and designing experimental strategies 
(3) stabilizing/optimizing production process 
(4) developing new process
(5) supporting production/operation division¡¯s problem solving. 
The focus of this position will be on soy foods and plant protein product development.

[ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES]
Plan projects and carry out tasks from inception to completion as assigned by supervisor
Makes recommendations to supervisor regularly communicating project status and progress both verbally and with written documentation
Works closely with marketing, operations, finance and QA to carry project through completion
Provides weekly written updates and attends weekly meetings to discuss projects
Coordinates with and provides technical expertise on nutrition labeling to marketing
Maintains up to date technical knowledge of regulatory issues in regard to product lines
Provides information to finance to calculate project costs
Participates in cost reduction activities by providing technical expertise on ingredients and process optimization
Communicate with co-packers to meet project objectives
Works closely with quality to correct problems that require research and trouble shooting

[Requirements]
- Location: Fullerton or Ayer (USA)
- Understanding/knowledge of food chemistry and protein chemistry
- Understanding/knowledge of FDA food labeling/process regulation
- Understanding/knowledge of food safety
- In depth knowledge of ingredient functionality especially soy and plant proteins, processing operations, and the physical/chemical methods required to determine desired product characteristics
- English/Korean Bilingual
- Periodic international travel to Asia should be expected

[Required Education]
- BS Degree in Food Science or related field
- At least 3 years related experience in food industry or an equivalent combination of related graduate degree
